Women in Mathematics and Statistics
The School of Mathematics and Statistics runs a Women in Mathematics and Statistics program to support female staff and students and provide them with networking opportunities. Our activities include:

The School has hosted our annual Do The Maths workshops (formerly Girls Do the Maths) for female high school students since 2005. The workshop takes place annually. Our events in 2023, 2022 and 2021 were run in dual modality - with face-to-face and online versions.Ìý
We have also hosted mini Do the Maths workshops for groups of female high school students as part of the L'Oreal Girls in Science Forum.

We established the »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ Women in Mathematics and Statistics Ambassador in 2016 as part of our Do the Maths program. The main role of these female academics is to deliver an inspiring talk at the Do the Maths workshop about their careers and area of mathematics. They are also invited to present a public lecture to a wider audience (university
