2025 Cancer & Immunology Ideas Forum

»Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ Faculty of Medicine & Health's Cancer and Triple I (Infectious Disease, Immunity & Inflammation) Research Themes in collaboration with Maridulu Budyari Gumal (SPHERE) Cancer CAG, NSW Regional Cancer Research Network, Sydney Cancer Partners, The University of Sydney Cancer Research Network: Tumour Microenvironment & Metabolism Special Interest Group and Macquarie University is hosting the 2025 Cancer & Immunology Ideas Forum. 

Join us for a day filled with insightful discussions and innovative ideas surrounding cancer and immunology. This in-person event will be held at the NSW Teachers Federation Conference Centre on 19 September 2025, bringing together experts and enthusiasts in the field.

The program will feature two plenary presentations by Prof Nick Huntington (Head of the Cancer Immunotherapy Laboratory at the Biomedicine Discovery Institute at Monash University) and Dr Jo Wright (Senior Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, Gut Cancer Group at The University of Adelaide), rapid-fire presentations from selected PhD and EMCR speakers, and will conclude with networking drinks to continue the conversation in a more informal setting.

The Australian Translational Breast Cancer Research Symposium is a unique event in the Australian research calendar. Its objective is to bring together the breast cancer research community, spanning basic and clinically-focused research, for two days of updates in cutting-edge translational breast cancer research.

We encourage researchers and clinicians of all stages of their careers to join us.

Registration is free, but essential for catering etc. It includes lunch on both days, coffee breaks and a poster session with refreshments & hors d’oeuvres.

Abstract submission are now being taken for posters and a limited number of talks. Talks will be selected from the abstract submissions, all relevant and appropriate abstracts will be accepted for posters.

  • The 4th Annual »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ Cancer Symposium was held on Thursday 19th June 2025 at the NSW Teacher's Federation Conference Centre. 

  • The first EMCR Cancer Theme Workshop was held on 21 November 2024. The aim of the workshop was to help EMCRs identify goals, audiences and engagement opportunities, plus gain insights on partnerships and profile building. 

  • The 4th Cancer and Immunology Idea’s Forum took place on Friday 16 August 2924. For the first time the Forum was an equal joint-venture between the University of New South Wales and The University of Sydney.
