Scientia Program
The »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ Scientia Program enhances our culture of research excellence by investing in learning, development and collaboration opportunities for a cohort of high-performing early-to-mid-career researchers. Our industry co-funded positions enable a partner to sponsor part of a 4-year Scientia appointment for a researcher who is working on their R&D project.
Industry PhDs
Higher degree research (HDR) candidates are the backbone of »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ’s R&D capability. Not only are they responsible for much of the day-to-day work of research, but they also contribute vigour, agility and fresh perspectives.
There are multiple ways for partners to engage with »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ’s HDR talent and inject innovation into their business. Employ a candidate as an intern to workshop a short-term problem or sponsor one of your employees to study at »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ. Maintaining open channels and meaningful collaboration between industry and academia is essential to take research to market and safeguard Australia’s global competitiveness.

Work-integrated learning (WIL) activities vary and may include:
- Placements (internship, clinical) where a student performs course-related work while embedded within a partner organisation.
- Projects that require students to complete specific deliverables for a partner who acts as a client or mentor.
WIL takes place in a variety of contexts, including:
- On or off campus, face-to-face or online.
- Office-based, clinical or field-work.
- Paid or unpaid.
