New to swimming? You’re not alone, and it’s never too late to learn

Water and beach culture are a big part of the Australian lifestyle. But if you didn’t grow up around the water or never had the chance to learn how to swim, that shouldn’t stop you from getting involved, not at all!

The Learn to Swim Program, delivered by ʹڲƱ Health Promotion Unit in partnership with Medibank, ʹڲƱ Fitness & Aquatic Centre, and Coogee Surf Life Saving Club, is here to help you feel safe, confident, and connected in the water.

    One-hour weekly sessions with qualified instructors at the ʹڲƱ Fitness & Aquatic Centre.

    Unlimited access to the swimming pool for the duration of the program.

    Meet your instructors, fellow swimmers, and get introduced to program expectations.

    Receive guidance, support and tips throughout the 8 weeks.

    Practical tips to help you stay safe at the beach and in the pool.

    🎉 End-of-Program Dinner
    Celebrate your achievements with your fellow participants.

    📜 Certificate + Gift
    Attend at least 80% of lessons to receive a certificate of completion and a small gift.

  • This program is open only to current ʹڲƱ students, both domestic and international. It's designed for beginners with little to no swim experience.

    ✅ You’re eligible if:

    • You are a current ʹڲƱ student

    • You cannot swim 15 metres or more

    • You have never completed this program before

    • You are committed to attending all sessions

    ❌ You're not eligible if you can already swim confidently (15m+), or have done the program previously.

    ➡️ An assessment will be conducted at the Welcome Session. ʹڲƱ reserves the right to cancel your ticket if you don’t meet the eligibility criteria.

    • Refunds or session exchanges available up to 3 days before the program starts.
    • No refunds once the program begins (unless in exceptional circumstances).
    • No make-up classes if you miss a session.
    • You must stay in your assigned class day, no switching between classes.
Cost
$75 per person

This one-time fee covers the entire 8-week Learn to Swim program, including weekly lessons, pool access, workshops, and program extras.
